Second Distinctive Attribute of Improved Respiration

We are all leaders of someone or something. Controlling emotions makes us better leaders. Many people fail in leadership due to a poor emotional control. There are ways to train and improve. Learning to influence the autonomic nervous system is the path to emotional control and is possible only with improved repiration.

The autonomic nervous system is the command and control center of our emotions, even involuntary movements, in the parasympathetic division. People who perfect the art of breathing; yogis,  mindfulness practionners, elite freedivers, and budist monks, among others, can master relaxation and positively affect the autonomic nervous system.

Leadership skills with an emphasis on emotional control and persuasion can be training and enhanced through breathing workouts.

The principles and objectives of -The Warrior Breathing Training Program (WBTP) impact the nervous system, either activating the sympathetic nervous system, stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system, or balancing the autonomic nervous system.

A-BOX Breathing balances the nervous system. This is a breathing workout  adapted from the Box Breathing exercise performed by one of the best Special Operations Forces in the world, the Navy SEALs. A-box breathing induces relaxation response and helps to automate a proactive reaction of its members to the emerging events of combat situations and thus remain calm and reduce stress.

The ALTUMBLUE  leadership style emphasizes the importance of persuation and positive reinforcement to get better results. We know in the Marine Corps Special Operations Forces community that leadership is a matter of inspiring, guiding and supporting others. The role of the leader is to motivate team members to perform to the highest standards and to instill self-discipline.

Breathe to inspire…
